Infrastructure monitoring is a must-have pillar for your eco-system. It helps you monitor and understand your hardware, servers, collect metrics and understand the resources they provide. It's very annoying when you ran out of space or memory in the most crucial moment.
By collecting metrics on your hosts or from the containers and sending the data to the InsightCat platform, you will be able to see, monitor, analyse, query, and control all your systems. And even if you're away from the screen, we will analyse all sets of telemetry, and alert you when things go wrong.
The first thing you will see after registering a new account is an onboarding screen with a few options to start collecting metrics.
InsightCat generates a ready-to-go configs for Telegraf, Prometheus and IC Agent out of the box. You just need to install the agent and run it with the provided config to start gathering the first set of metrics. While Telegraf and Prometheus are open-source agents with their own set of features, we provide our own agent that is easier to kick-start and it more tightly integrated with InsightCat platform. Also, it allows you to collect logs, traces and manage everything in one place reducing maintenance and resource costs.
<aside> ⚠️ By default, generate configs have inserted API key. You might want to check it or change. To do so go to the API keys tab in Manage, reveal the key and update the target config with a new key accordingly.

When IC gets first metrics, we automatically define agent and generate set of graphs and thresholds.
On the Hosts
tab you will see all your physical or virtual hosts. Click on any of them to see the corresponding graphs. By default you will get:
